Written and recorded during May 2020 apart of a short film titled 'The Rarebit Fiend' inspired by Winsor McCay's 1906 'Dream of A Rarebit Fiend'
lyrics
The rustic door creeks as I step into the room, muted conversation mirrors off the decrepit floorboards.
Rotten water leaks down the cracks above loving photographs of children on the wall.
Stale upholstery and tattered wallpaper comforts me, I allude myself from my improprieties.
As I take a sip from the glass I fall into a fit of stillness, an ominous hum of loneliness takes over me. I feel at home at last.
Distant echoes of blather and blether pierce my thoughts and I fall back into reality, procuring myself as a charlatan.
Complacent and feeble I fret to the exit, the street lampposts start to vigorously shake across the landscape and my balance starts to stagger.
An entity incompetent to comprehend fractures my reverie and draws the curtain as I fall.
They ask me "How do you think? how do you work? how do you feel? have a taste, we'll take you to the iron gates"
"Go have a swing at em' boys"
I want some action, anything for the relief, let me have some fun. Let me have some fun.
Three devilish fiends they get their kicks right outta me playing fun and games, kerosene fills the room. Right up to my knees.
Have a sip, have a taste. Only the finest for your famished grace. Let me have some fun, let me have some fun.
I want some action, anything for the relief. I got down on my kness, the fiend it whispered in my ear, sung a song so sweet.
Driven by guitars that are by turns intricately melodic and gravelly, Kaz Mirblouk's sophomore album is highly enjoyable rock music. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 7, 2021
